W. L. Pillsbury, Esq., Secretary Board of Trustees, University of Illinois. DEAR S I R : — I beg to acknowledge receipt of your favor enclosing the resolutions adopted by the Board of Trustees of the University ot Illinois. An illness on my part has delayed an earlier acknowledgment of your communication. Will you express to the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois my sincere regret at the delay, of the students of Beloit College to pay the sum due to the University of Illinois base-ball team under the decision of the referee"? Should it be necessary I will bring the matter before the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees of Beloit College at their next meeting in April; but I hope a settlement will have been made before that time. The seventy dollars must be paid with interest from date of the decision of the referee. Sincerely yours, '
