No use may be made of the hall or of the apparatus for gymnastic purposes, exercises, or games, at times other than those assigned by the Faculty for such uses, unless by special permission. 3. The instructor in charge will see t h a t order is preserved in the hall during class hours. 4. Students excused from drill for physical disability will not be allowed to exercise in the gymnasium except by special permission of the Faculty. 5. All students must provide themselves with gymnasium slippers. 6. The use of tobacco in the hall is prohibited. 7. Damage to apparatus will be charged to the person or persons causing it. THE ILLINI. 1. The control of the Illini on the part of the students of the University shall be vested in a committee of students to be called the Illini Board, to be elected by the students in accordance with the regulations approved by the Faculty. Copies of these regulations may be had at any time in the Regent's office. On motion of Mr. Morgan, the rules were adopted as reported, and the Secretary was instructed t o have enough slips containing the rules struck off for present use: b u t t o defer printing the rules in pamphlet form until after the next regular meeting of the Board. Mr. G r a h a m offered the following: resolution, which was adopted: Mesolved, T h a t the pledges held in the Regent's office, with regard to secret societies, be destroyed, and t h a t public announcement of this be made. On motion of Mr. Morgan, it was ordered as follows: The Treasurer of this B o a r d is hereby directed t o p a y bills for printing and binding of a second edition of the first volume of the Zoological Survey of the S t a t e of Illinois t o the a m o u n t of the s t a t e appropriation* therefor on the order of the S t a t e Board of Contracts, and in no other way. The Committee on Instruction asked further time t o consider the question of music fees, and the request was g r a n t e d . The request of the Christian Associations of the University for more room was referred t o the Committee on Buildings and Grounds. The question of printing circulars, blanks, certificates, and diplomas for framing, t o be used in connection with accredited schools, was referred t o the Committee on Publications, with instructions t o confer with t h e committee on p r e p a r a t o r y schools, of the Faculty, and t o report a t the March meeting." On motion of Mr. Morgan, it was voted t h a t t h e President confer with Professor Forbes and report a t the next meeting upon the relations between the University and t h e S t a t e L a b o r a t o r y of N a t u r a l History.
