The Regent presented to the Board the following certified copy of the law changing the name of the University: A N A C T TO CHAN'GE T H E N A M E O F T H E I L L I N O I S I N D U S T R I A L U N I V E R S I T Y . SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly: T h a t the Illinois Industrial University, located at U r b a n a , in Champaign County, shall, after the p a s s a g e of this act, be k n o w n as t h e University of Illinois, and u n d e r t h a t n a m e a n d title shall h a v e , p o s s e s s , be seized of, and exercise all rights, privileges, franchises a n d e s t a t e s which have hitherto belonged to, or m a y hereafter inure to, t h e said Illinois I n d u s t r i a l University. Trustee Follansbee offered the following resolution, which was adopted: Resolved, T h a t in view of t h e c h a n g e of n a m e of t h i s University by t h e General A s s e m bly of.the State, t h e Regent is h e r e b y a u t h o r i z e d and directed to p r o c u r e a new seal, of like d e s i g n a s t h e old one, with t h e n a m e of the "University of Illinois" t h e r e i n in place of the w o r d s "Illinois I n d u s t r i a l University." Also t h a t he be instructed to p r o c u r e a n e w plate o r e n g r a v i n g for diplomas for t h e University of Illinois; t h e whole to be p r o c u r e d at a cost not to exceed $400. .
