CULTURAL LANDSCAPE TREATMENT PLAN ROBERT ALLERTON PARK, MONTICELLO, ILLINOIS 2001 – This garden has changed relatively little since 1944 except that the mazes have become wider and the vines on the walls were more profuse. 2001 – This narrow passageway east of the Chinese Maze Garden originally led to two stair pavilions. Remnants of one of these towers remains. The arborvitae that Allerton planted here have grown too large for the space and obscure the new ADA access path. III-59
