The Federal Electric Vacuum Cleaner

has several undeniable advantages over any other cleaning machine thus far produced. Among the reasons for its superiority are the following:

Which is the Best Cleaner?

T h e problem which remains for the woman of the house is to choose the best type of machine. There are certain features which a vacuum cleaner must possess in order to satisfactorily do the work desired. It must be so designed and have a motor powerful enough to produce a steady and sufficient vacuum together with a large volume of air; must be substantially constructed so as not to need repair; must be built so that it can easily be taken to any part of the house; must be self-contained, carrying a complete set of tools within the machine ready for use at any time. In addition, the most desirable machine should be attractively finished, and its mechanism delicately adjusted so as to minimize the noise. All of these qualities are perfected and combined in the Federal Electric Vacuum Cleaner, making it the peer of all portable house cleaning machines.

It is equipped with a rotary pump connected by a

patented device directly to the % -horse power motor. This insures a steady vacuum in the simplest manner. It is portable. It can be wheeled from one room to another or from floor to floor by a maid without any difficulty whatsoever. Its construction eliminates the necessity of carrying it or of lifting it up and down stairs.

It is compact and self-contained.

All the tools are

packed in the machine, keeping them always at hand and with the machine. N o danger of losing tools or of wasting time in going back to another part of the house for them.

It is practically noiseless in operation.

The motor

and pump are made into a single unit by means of a direct connecting patented device. This arrangement eliminates vibration and minimizes noise. It makes about as much noise as the average sewing machine. It has no valves. Its construction and action are simple and natural throughout. Can be operated by any housemaid.

The Federal Electric Vacuum Cleaner

is perfectly adapted to residence, office building, church, library, hospital, apartment building, hotel or theatre cleaning purposes. Every part of its construction has been carefully and scientifically planned to avoid all the objectionable features heretofore found in vacuum cleaners. T h e machine can be attached to any lamp socket. Fifteen feet of vacuum hose and twenty feet of lamp cord are supplied with the machine, which, with the extension handle, gives a radius of action of forty feet from the lamp socket. T h e equipment includes eight different tools which make it possible to clean every nook and crevice of a house and its furnishings, and at a cost of only a few cents. Tools are made of aluminum. T h e machine can be furnished for either direct or alternating current.

It has no intricate parts to wear out and need replacing. Substantially constructed and will last a lifetime.

It is easily cleaned. Does not have to be taken apart to be cleaned. The throw of a lever empties it of all dirt. It produces a Strong vacuum and sufficient volume of air to do effective cleaning.

It has a radius of action of forty feet from the light socket. It will not injure in any way the most delicate fabric. It is elegantly finished in mahogany. An ornament

in the home. Tools made of aluminum and highly polished.

It cleans cheaply, effectively and quickly.
