Digital Computer Lab

The Digital Computer Laboratory was born in 1949 under the guidance of Ralph Meagher. Upon the construction of the new Digital Computer Laboratory building in 1957 the Computer Science Department was born. In 1963 a $476,000 addition was built that doubled the size of the building and added 2 stories and a basement. The addition also provided "tape cutting rooms, offices, conference rooms and a lab for use with a high-speed computer".

Today the building still houses computer labs and two lecture halls used by the Department of Computer Science.
