Virginia Talbot

Virginia Talbot

Arthur N. Talbot II and his sister Virginia, 1947

Virginia Talbot, Kenneth's second child, entered the construction business, just like her dad and her younger brother (Arthur II). Born in 1918 at Dormont, Pa., she moved with the family to Wisconsin, Ohio, Nebraska, California and Arizona.

Virginia studied liberal arts at Doane College in Nebraska and at the University of Redlands in California, then moved to Phoenix. She eventually became secretary-treasurer of the Royden Construction Co., and also Arizona state president of the Business and Professional Women's Club. She was active in the Episcopal church, serving as an officer in the Episcopal Church Women of the Diocese of Arizona. She also volunteered at the Desert Terrace Nursing Home. Her interests in genealogy stemmed from her membership in the DAR and other Revolutionary War organizations.

Virginia never married. "She had major physical difficulties the last twenty years of her life," Phil recalls. She died in 1989.
