PROPOSED UNIVERSITY-CHAMPAIGN BOULEVARD LINK, 1917 Submitted by the University Bureau of the Champaign Chamber of Commerce. Plan prepared in August, 1917, by Mr. Frank L. Venning under the direction of the Supervising Architect. The study w as made chiefly to shew the advantages to be derived by both the University and the city of Champaign from the establishment of a boulevard system linking the city with the University, and the development of a desirable residence district in Champaign convenient to the campus. This plan, largely inspirational in intent, is the logical outgrowth of previous suggestions for the improvement ofthe approaches to the University. It has proved to be the forerunner of a movement which has since materialized in that section.
