heating of the Dairy Manufactures building, but they make a deduction of three percent, on the basis of a combined bid on all these jobs, which makes their bid the lowest possible combination of bids submitted. I therefore recommend that Carstens Brothers be awarded the following contracts: Heating and Ventilating the Library #45,56575 Heating and Ventilating the Commerce building 41,403.50 Heating the Dairy Manufactures building 9,190.75 Total #96,160.00 3. General work, Dairy Manufactures. I recommend that the contract for the general work on the Dairy Manufactures building be awarded to Mr. A. W . Stoolman, the low bidder, whose bid was $124,987, on the basis of a revised bid which may not exceed $117,000. 4. Wiring. I recommend that the electrical contract on the Library be awarded to the Ncwbery Electric Company, who were the low bidders, at their bid of #7>55°- I recommend also that the Executive Committee be authorized to award the contract for wiring the Gymnasium and Dairy Manufactures buildings. O n motion of M r s . E v a n s , the contract for general w o r k o n the Dairy Manufactures building w a s awarded to the low bidder, A . W . Stoolman, o n the basis of a revised bid, at a price not to exceed $117,000. O n motion of M r s . Blake, the contract for the electric wiring of the Library w a s awarded to the low bidders, the N e w b e r y Construction C o m p a n y , for $7,550. O n motion of M r s . Blake, the contracts for the electric wiring of the G y m n a s i u m and Dairy Manufactures building w a s referred to the Executive Committee, with p o w e r to act. O n motion of M r s . Blake, the contract for plumbing for the G y m n a s i u m , Library, and Dairy Manufactures building w a s awarded to the low bidders, the Carson-Payson C o m p a n y , o n the basis of their combined bid. O n motion of M r s . Evans, the contract for heating and ventilating the C o m m e r c e a n d Library buildings a n d for heating the Dairy Manufactures building w a s awarded to the low bidders, Carstens Brothers, o n the basis of their bid of $96,160. TIME OF JUNE MEETING It was voted to hold the June quarterly meeting (scheduled for June 10) at a date to be selected later by the President of the Board. APPOINTMENTS MADE BY PRESIDENT KINLEY T h e Secretary presented for record a list of appointments m a d e by the President of the University. Allen, Lucile, Assistant State Leader in Home Economics Extension, for two and one-half months, beginning June 16, 1924, at a salary of two hundred eight and one-third dollars ($208.33) a month. (May 5, 1924)1 Burris, Q. G., Scholar in English, for the academic year beginning in September, 1924, at a stipendium of three hundred dollars ($300). (April 23, 1924) Callen, A. C , Professor of Mining Engineering and Head of the Department, beginning September 1, 1924, on indefinite tenure, at a salary- of five hundred dollars ($500) a month.
