A P P R O P R I A T I O N F O R E X P E N S E S O F M O V I N G INTO N E W A G R I C U L T U R A L BUILDING (15) A recommendation that the sum of $2500 or so much thereof as may be necessary be appropriated from the Reserve and Contingent Fund to meet the expense of installing telephones and buzzers, and for other expenses incidental to the moving of the several offices assigned to the new Agricultural Building. O n motion of M r . Blair, this recommendation was approved, and the appropriation was m a d e by the following vote: Aye, M r . Armstrong, M r . Blair, M r s . Evans, M r s . Grigsby, M r . Noble, M r . Trees; no, none; absent, M r s . Blake, M r s . Busey, M r . Herbert, M r . Small, M r . Trimble. SENDING "AGRICULTURIST" TO HIGH SCHOOLS (16) A recommendation that Dean Mumford, of the College of Agriculture, be authorized to send a copy of The Agriculturist, the publication of the students of the College of Agriculture, to each high school of the State; the expense (estimated at $600) to be charged to College Extension. O n motion of M r . Blair, this recommendation was approved. APPROPRIATION FOR DEDICATION OF BUILDINGS (17) A recommendation that the sum of £1200, or so much thereof as may be necessary, be appropriated, from the Reserve and Contingent Fund, for the expenses of dedication of the new agricultural and medical buildings. O n motion of M r s . Evans, this recommendation was adopted, and the appropriation was m a d e by the following vote: Aye, M r . Armstrong, M r . Blair, M r s . Evans, M r s . Grigsby, M r . Noble, M r . Trees; no, none; absent, M r s . Blake, M r s . Busey, M r . Herbert, M r . Small, M r . Trimble.

AGRICULTURAL MEMORIAL

(18) There has been some discussion among agricultural people including the officers of the Illinois Farmers' Institute concerning an Agricultural Memorial to take the place of the Farmers' Hall of Fame. The following outline of a plan for the Memorial has been suggested: I. Location The Agricultural Memorial shall be located in one of the buildings occupied by the College of Agriculture in a room or hall suitable for displaying portraits, and in which they will receive proper care. This room or hall should be easily accessible to visitors. II. Objects a. To honor recognized agricultural leaders. b. To collect and preserve valuable historical material bearing on the development of agriculture. c T o preserve, by portraits, the faces of men who have by conspicuous achievement rendered valuable public service to agriculture. d. To inspire grateful veneration for those who have contributed most to agricultural advancement. e. To instill in students a desire to excel in some particular line of agriculture. III. Nominations a. Nominations for the Agricultural Memorial shall be made by a commission of nine men. (See V.)
