Under our authorized procedure it was the business of the Treasurer to collect these loans. Experience shows, however, that this plan is not practicable under our present organization. Consequently a year or so ago the Comptroller was requested by m e to take the matter up, with consent of the Treasurer. Mr. Morey expresses the belief that the plan of having these loans collected by the Business Office is the better one under our present organization, and he has convinced m e of the correctness of this view. Therefore, I join with him in recommending that the collection of these loans be hereafter under the authority of the Comptroller of the University. O n motion of M r . Blair, this recommendation w a s approved. ASSIGNMENT OF LAND TO DEPARTMENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY (23) A recommendation that the f l o i g r g l t o be adopted: olwn euain A piece of land which has been assigned by the Board of Trustees to a college or department for a particular use or for a definite period may not be used for any other purpose nor beyond the period designated, without positive reassignment by the Board of Trustees. On motion of Mr. Blair, this recommendation was adopted. AUDITOR'S REPORT The Secretary presented for record the report of the auditing company for the quarter ending September 30, 1923. ^Greater part of increase over lastyear due to inclusion of accrued interest in principal of notes renewed.
