EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING, N O V E M B E R 16, 1923 President Noble as Chairman of the Executive Committee presented for record the minutes of a meeting of the Executive Committee held November 16,1923. MEDICAL RESEARCH LABORATORY On recommendation of the Supervising Architect and the Architects, Richard E. Schmidt and H u g h M . G. Garden, the following bids for work on the Medical Research Library and Laboratory building were approved and the Architects were authorized to enter into contracts for same: Refrigerators: Jewett Refrigerator C o $ 2,588.00 Reading Room Tables and Chairs: The Linden Co. (12 tables, 63 chairs) 3,775.00 Card Catalog Case: Library Bureau (1 190-tray card catalog case) 858.00 Catalog Reference Table: The Linden C o 98.00 Shelves and Glass Doors in place of large card catalog case: C. A. Moses Construction C o 549-°° Sterilizers: American Sterilizer C o 1,343.07 Bronze Tablet: F. P. Trees COMMITTEE O N PLANTING Mrs. Blake, as Chairman of the special committee on horticultural planting, reported for record that the committee met on November 17, 1923, and considered the matter of transplanting trees from College Place and from other parts of the Campus. It was the opinion of the committee that thefirstplantings should be made on Fourth Street, to complete the avenue. General plans were discussed, and Professor White was asked to draw plans for the planting of the entire south Campus. O n motion of Mr. Blair, President Noble was appointed a member of this committee in place of former President W . L. Abbott. MATTERS PRESENTED BY PRESIDENT KINLEY The Board considered the following matters presented by the President of the University. COLLEGE OF MEDICINE (1) A statement concerning the necessity of providing hospital facilities for the College of Medicine. Action o n this m a t t e r w a s deferred (see p a g e 3 6 8 ) .
