356 board of trustees [November 3, M A T T E R S P R E S E N T E D B Y PRESIDENT KINLEY The Board considered the following matters presented by the President of the University. GIFT F R O M S E N A T O R WILLIAM B. McKINLEY (1) Senator William B. McKinley, of Champaign, authorizes, me to say that he will donate to the University one thousand shares of certain stock, yielding at present an annual income of $7,000, for the endowment of a chair in the economics of transportation, in the field of administration. If the Board of Trustees accepts this gift, it will be asked to agree that the present annual income of this stock, namely $7,000, shall be maintained by the Board of Trustees as the salary of the chair thus endowed. O n motion of M r s . Blake, the President of the University w a s authorized to accept this gift under the conditions outlined. O n motion of M r s . E v a n s , the President of the University w a s requested to express to Senator M c K i n l e y the thanks of the Board.
