M U T U A L BENEFIT ASSOCIATION President Noble m a d e a statement concerning the opinion of the Legal Counsel on the powers of the Board with respect to the proposed plan for cooperation with the Mutual Benefit Association (Minutes, M a r c h 12, 1923, page 139). M r . Trimble withdrew his motion of March 13, 1923 (page 141), for the adoption of the plan of cooperation. O n motion of M r . Armstrong, M r . Trimble was appointed a special committee to draw up a new plan for a system of death and disability benefits and retiring allowances, to be presented to the Board as soon as it m a y be convenient. M A T T E R S P R E S E N T E D B Y P R E S I D E N T KINLEY T h e Board considered the following matters presented by the President of the University. TILE W A L L S F O R DAIRY B A R N (1) A recommendation that the contract for t l walls for the dairy barn be ie awarded to the Kalamazoo Tank and Silo Company, and that $4500, or so much thereof as may be necessary, be appropriated for this purpose from the $380,000 appropriated by the General Assembly for agricultural buildings. O n motion of Mrs. Evans, this recommendation was approved. T h e appropriation was m a d e by the following vote: Aye, M r . A r m strong, M r s . Blake, M r s . Busey, M r s . Evans, M r s . Grigsby, M r . Noble, M r . Trees, M r . Trimble; no, none; absent, M r . Blair, M r . Herbert, M r . Small.

TORNADO INSURANCE ON STADIUM

(2) A recommendation that the Memorial Stadium be insured for $500,000 against damage by tornado, for a period offiveyears, and that $4500, or so much thereof as may be necessary, be appropriated from the Reserve and Contingent fund for the payment of the premium. O n motion of M r s . Evans, this recommendation w a s concurred in. T h e appropriation w a s m a d e b y the following vote: Aye, M r . Armstrong, M r s . Blake, M r s . Busey, M r s . PURCHASE OF LOT 109 IN COLLEGE PLACE

(3) A recommendation that Lot 109 in College Place Addition, with house thereon, be purchased for $7500, and that an appropriation of $7500 be made from the Reserve and Contingent Fund for this purpose.
