M A T T E R S P R E S E N T E D BY PRESIDENT K1NLEY T h e Board considered the following matters presented b y the President of the University. ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS MODIFIED (i) The following recommendations from the University Senate with reference to the University entrance requirements: (a) That admission of students with deficiency be discontinued. O n motion of M r . Trees, this recommendation w a s adopted. (b) That the statement of subjects required for entrance be restricted to those subjects which are definitely required for the particular curriculum and which appear as prerequisites to courses prescribed for the freshman year. O n motion of M r . Armstrong, this recommendation w a s adopted. (c) That Nowegian, Swedish, and Polish be omitted from list B, and that in list C there be inserted: Foreign language, other than those of list B,l or 2 units. O n motion of M r s . Grigsby, this recommendation w a s adopted. (d) That general science, astronomy, and geology be transferred from list B to list C. O n motion of M r s . Evans, this recommendation w a s adopted. (e) That the science requirement be omitted from list A, and that in any curriculum in which less than fifteen hours of laboratory science are required, a student who enters without at least one unit of laboratory science shall be required to substitute five hours of laboratory science for five hours of free electives in the requirements for graduation. O n motion of M r . Trees, this recommendation w a s adopted. (f) That the changes recommended go into effect September, 1924. O n motion of M r s . Busey, this recommendation w a s adopted. ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS, COLLEGE OF DENTISTRY (2) A recommendation from the University Senate, based on a recommendation from the faculty of the College of Dentistry, that the entrance requirements of the College of Dentistry be modified so as to require that in September, 1924, and thereafter, a student to be qualified for admission must have completed either one unit of high-school physics or six semester hours of college physics. O n motion of M r . Armstrong, this recommendation w a s adopted. MODIFICATION OF DENTAL CURRICULUM (3) A recommendation from the University Senate, based on a recommendation from the faculty of the College of Dentistry, that the course in zoology be dropped from the curriculum in Dentistry. O n motion of M r . Armstrong, this recommendation w a s adopted. GENERAL CURRICULUM IN AGRICULTURE (4) A recommendation from the University Senate, based on a recommendation from the faculty of the College of Agriculture, that the following changes be made in the general curriculum in Agriailture approved by the Board of Trustees on October 20, 1922: 1. That Zoology 1, 5 hours, be added to "Elective group B." 2. That Entomology 1, three hours, be prescribed instead of a three-hour course in Zoology as provided in the original curriculum. O n motion of M r s . Grigsby, this recommendation w a s adopted.
