PURCHASE OF LOT 52 IN COLLEGE PLACE (30) A recommendation that Lot 52 in College Place be purchased from Dr. C. W . Knapp for #9000, and that $5500 be appropriated from the Reserve and Contingent Fund for the first payment. This lot contains an eight-room house and a garage. It is mortgaged for $3500. O n motion of M r s . Evans, this recommendation w a s approved. T h e vote w a s as follows: Aye, M r . Armstrong, M r s . Blake, M r s . Evans, M r s . Grigsby, M r . Noble, M r . Trees; no, none; absent, M r . Blair, M r s . Busey, M r . Herbert, M r . Small, M r . Trimble. INSPECTION OF HIGH SCHOOLS (31) A report that an agreement had been made by the President of the University with the State Superintendent of Public Instruction covering the work of inspection of public high schools. This report w a s received for record.

CONTRACTS FOR ARCHITECTURAL WORK ON NEW BUILDINGS

(32) A contract with Mr. C. A. Piatt for the architectural work on the McKinley Hospital, and a recommendation that this contract be approved and that the Executive Committee be authorized to make similar contracts with Mr. Piatt for the other new buildings. This recommendation w a s adopted. MUTUAL BENEFIT ASSOCIATION Action o n the proposed M u t u a l Benefit Association w a s deferred until the June meeting. TIME O F J U N E M E E T I N G It w a s voted to hold the June quarterly meeting at the University, at 4 p. m . on Saturday, June 9. APPOINTMENTS TO FILL VACANCIES T h e Secretary presented also for record the following list of appointments m a d e b y President Kinley: Barger, E. H., Instructor in Animal Pathology, in the College of Agriculture, and First Assistant in Animal Pathology in the Agricultural Experiment Station, for one year and three months, beginning June I, 1923, at a salary of two hundred eight dollars (#208) a month. (May 16, 1923)1 Bock, Sara, Stenographer in the Department of Physiological Chemistry, in the College of Medicine, at a salary of eighty-five dollars (#85) a month, for five months, beginning April I, 1923, subject to the rules of the Civil Service Commission. (April 10, 1923) Brownell, Mary B., Scholar in Romance Languages, for the year 1923-24, beginning September 1, 1923, with a stipendium of three hundred dollars ($300).
