Since these contributions apply merely to the prosecution of an investigation already undertaken and involve nothing more than a further extension of the original contract between the Board of Trustees and the Engineering Foundation of October 4, 1919, as already extended under the agreement with the General Electric Company approved by the Board of Trustees on September 14,1920, ] have authorized the Comptroller to receive these contributions. This report w a s received for record.

REPORT ON FIRE AT THE POULTRY FARM

(14) A report from Professor Rusk, transmitted by Dean Mumford, that the two story chicken house at the Poultry Plant burned to the ground about eleven p. m. Friday, March 23. The greatest loss was occasioned by the burning of a large number of hovers and several coal burning brooder stoves that were stored in the lower story. About one hundred hens were also lost in thefire.The leghorn house directly to the west of the building which burned was damaged to some extent, but none of the contents was lost. A feed house to the east was badly damaged, but will not require a great deal of repair. This report w a s received for record.

STOCK AND BONDS FOR HOSPITAL

(15) A recommendation that the Comptroller be authorized and directed to exchange 400 shares of Traction common stock, $15,000 in bonds of the Atchison Railway, Light, and Power Co. and $15,000 in bonds of the Bloomington and Normal Railway Light Co.for$80,000 cash when the donor's agent notifies the President of the University that he is ready to replace these securities with cash. O n motion of M r . Trimble, this exchange w a s authorized.

APPROPRIATION FOR ADDRESSOGRAPH

(16) A request for an appropriation of $395 for the purchase of an addressograph, the amount to be charged to the Reserve and Contingent Fund. O n motion of M r . Armstrong, this request was granted. T h e vote was as follows: Aye, M r . Armstrong, Mrs. Blake, Mrs. Busey, M r s . Evans, M r s . Grigsby, M r . Herbert, M r . Noble, M r . Trees, M r . Trimble; no, none; absent, M r . Blair, M r . Small.

LEAVE OF ABSENCE FOR PROFESSOR MOODIE

(17) A request from Doctor Roy L. Moodie, Associate Professor of Anatomy in the College of Medicine, endorsed by Dean Eycleshymer, for a sabbatical leave of absence for the year beginning September 1, 1923. I recommend that this leave be granted, subject to the usual regulations. O n m o t i o n of M r s . E v a n s , this request w a s granted. IMMUNIZATION OF SUCKLING PIGS (18) A recommendation for the approval of the following proposed agreement with the B. F. Harris estate for a cooperative investigation of the immunization of suckling pigs.

AGREEMENT

This agreement made and entered into this day of , between T H E B O A R D O F T R U S T E E S O F T H E U N I V E R S I T Y O F ILLINOIS, a corporation of Illinois, having its principal office in the city of Urbana, Illinois, hereinafter called the University, and T H E B. F. H A R R I S E S T A T E , by N . M . Harris, Executor, of the city of Champaign, Illinois, hereinafter called the Estate. W I T N E S S E T H , the University and the Estate hereby mutually agree to carry on, during the spring and summer of 1923, a cooperative investigation of the immunization of suckling pigsforthe purpose of determining the effectiveness of immunization against hog cholera, when pigs are treated before weaning.
