For similar purposes certain bulletins are published by the accrediting department, such as the High School Manual, which gives detailed information as to entrance requirements and the conditions of accrediting; the Proceedings of the High School Conference; the Annual Report of the Visitor showing schools accredited and giving various studies, based on high school conditions, for the guidance and help of school authorities; a syllabus of H o m e Economics prepared by that section of the Conference in cooperation with the corresponding University department; a bulletin on Planning and Construction of High School Buildings; a bulletin, compiled in cooperation with the Conference committee, dealing with High School Libraries. In all of this work there is no duplication of work done elsewhere by the state. Actual inspection is made for accrediting. N o school is accredited on the basis of written reports by the school officers except schools of generally acknowledged standing when they apply for re-accrediting for another three year period and then only if they are still in charge of the same principal and superintendent. This report was received for record. BINDING BIENNIAL REPORT (3) A recommendation that an appropriation of $200 be made from the Reserve and Contingent Fund for binding 225 copies of the Biennial Report of the University. O n motion of M r s . Evans, this appropriation was m a d e , by the following vote: A y e ; M r . Abbott, M r s . Blake, M r s . Evans, M r s . Grigsby, M r . Hoit, M r . RESIGNATION OF PROFESSOR E. B. GREENE

(4) Doctor E. B. Greene, w h o began his service at the University of Illinois as Assistant Professor of History in 1894, and has held the rank of professor in that department 'The subjects of Clinical accept a call to Columbia be transferred to the third year. since 1897, has decided to Diagnosis and Hygiene are to University, Professor Greene was for several years Dean of the College of Literature and Arts.
