1901.] PROCEEDINGS OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES. 71 M E E T I N G O F MAY 28, 1901. The following call for a special meeting of the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois was issued May 23, 1901: "Upon the call of the President, Mr. Thomas J. Smith, there will be a special meeting of the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois at 11:00 o'clock a. m., Tuesday, May 28, 1901, at the Sherman House, Chicago, Illinois, to authorize coaferring degrees upon those just completing the cours8 in the College of Medicine, and to transact any other business duly presented." The members present at this meeting were Messrs. Bullard, Hatch, McKay, McLean, and Nightingale and Mrs. Abbott and Mrs. Alexander; absent, Governor Yates and Messrs. Bayliss, Conrad and Smith and Mrs. Carriel. President Draper was present. I n the absence of the President of the Board, Mr. Nightingale was» on motion of Mr. McLean, made President pro tern. GRADUATES OF 1901 OF THE COLLEGE OF MEDICINE. President Draper reported that the Faculty of the College of Medicine recommended the following persons for the degree of Doctor of Medicine: Eugene Scott Alexander. Leslie Webb Clarke.
