SCHOLARSHIPS TO WOMEN IN THE DOMESTIC SCIENCE DEPARTMENT.

T h e C o m m i t t e e o n A g r i c u l t u r e r e p o r t e d t h e following resolution, which was a d o p t e d :

URBANA, I I I . , May 21,1901.

lo the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois. Your Committee on Agriculture recommends the adoption of the following resolution: Resolved, That a free scholarship in the Department of Domestic Science of the College of Agriculture be granted to a woman student in each county of the State substantially upon the same terms as scholarships are now granted to men in other departments of said college; that the Domestic Science Associations and Farmers' Institutes be recognized as the instruments for securing the best results of this action; and that the President of the University and the Committee on Agriculture be requested to submit to the Board at the June meeting regulations covering the details of a satisfactory plan of procedure. lo the Board of Irustees of the University of Illinois. Your Committee on Students' Welfare requests the adoption of the following resolutions. Resolved, That the architects of the Library Building and the Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds be requested to suggest a remedy for the defects in the heating and ventilation of said building, and report the same to the Board of Trustees at its June meeting; and further be it Resolved, That if the architects and Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds are unable to suggest a remedy for said defects, that some one be employed to remedy the same, and that the building be put in good order in respect thereto during the coming summer so as to be ready for the opening in September.
