UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS.

[March 12,

M E E T I N G OF MARCH 12, 1901.

The Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois met in the Trustees' Room. Library Building, Urbana, Illinois, at 9 o'clock a. m., Tuesday, March 12, 1901. The members present were Messrs. Bayliss, Bullard, Conrad, Hatch, McKay, McLean, Nightingale, and Smith, and Mrs. Carriel, Mrs. Abbott, and Mrs. Alexander; absent, Governor Yates. President Draper was present. The minutes of the regular meeting of Dec. 11, 1900, and of the special meeting of Jan. 23, 1901, were approved as presented by the Secretary. On motion of Mr. McLean, Mr. Smith was elected President for the ensuing year. On motion of Mrs. Carriel, W. L. Pillsbury was re-elected Corresponding and Recording Secretary and Registrar for the ensuing year. On motion of Mr. McKay, Mr. E. G. Keith was re-elected Treasurer for the ensuing two years. Mr. McLean and Mr. McKay were elected to constitute, with the President of the Board, Mr. Smith, the Executive Committee of the Board. Mr. J. Irving Pearce, of Chicago, representing the Illinois State Board of Agriculture, Mr. H. Augustine, of Normal, representing the Illinois State Horticultural Society, and Mr. H. B. Gurler, of DeKalb, representing the Illinois State Dairymen's Association, were appointed members of the Advisory Board of the Agricultural Experiment Station. President Draper was re-elected President of the University for the ensuing two years. COMMUNICATION FROM PRESIDENT DRAPER. lo the Board of Trustees, I have the honor to make the following recommendations: 1. That Professor Evarts Boutell Greene be given leave of absence next year on half pay, and that the remaining half of his salary be used to make provision for his work.
