lo the Board of Irustees: I present the following recommendations touching the faculties of the University for the next year and other University affairs:

DEANS.

1. That Thomas Jonathan Burrill be reelected Vice-President and Dean of the Graduate School. 2. That Thomas Arkle Clark be reelected Dean of Undergraduates and Assistant to the President. 3. That the deans of the colleges be reelected as follows: Literature and Arts, David Kinley; Engineering, Nathan Clifford Ricker; Science, Stephen Alfred Forbes; Agriculture, Eugene Davenport; Law, James Brown Scott. 4. That Violet Delille Jayne be reelected Dean of the Woman's Department. 5. That the salaries of the several deans remain the same as last year. PROFESSORS. 1. That the resignation of Oscar Quick as Assistant Professor of Pbyics be accepted, and that Hubert Vmton Carpenter be appointed to the position at a salary of $1,200. 2. That the resignation of James David Phillips as Assistant Professor of General Engineering Drawing be accepted. I recommend that the vacancy be filled by the appointment of James Franklin Kable instructor in General Engineering Drawing, in charge of the department. 3. That the salary of Lewis Addison Rhoades, Professor of German, be $2,000. 4. That the salary of Evarts Boutell Greene, Professor of History, be $2,000. 5. That Niel Conwell Brooks, Instructor in German, be promoted to the position of Assistant Professor of German, and that his salary be $1,000 a year.
