DEPARTMENT OF M I N E S AND MINING.

The following resolution was adopted and the Secretary was instructed to transmit a copy of it to each member of Congress from Illinois. Besolved, That the Senators and Representatives in Congress from Illinois be and they are hereby respectfully urged to give their support to the bill for the promotion of Mining Engineering in the Land Grant Colleges and Agricultural Experiment Stations of the united States. The following report from the Committee on Agriculture was adopted: lo the Board of Trustees. Your Committee to which was referred the matter relating to the price of milk sold by the University dairy would fix the price of the milk of the standard named at 1^ cents a quart, and of the cream at im, cents a pint. Committee on Agriculture, An informal report was made by Mr. McLean, Chairman of the Committee on the College of Medicine, with regard to the donation whioh Dr. William E. Quine has proposed to make to the Library of the College of Medicine. On motion of Mr. Nightingale, the report was referred back to the Committee and the Committee advised to have, in conjunction with President Draper, a conference with Dr. Quine. The Board adjourned.
