lo the Board of Irustees of the University of Illinois. Your Finance Committee begs leave to report that it has examined the vochers submitted by the Business Manager for the six months ending June 30, 1901, on which warrants haye been issued as follows: Nos. 1601 to 3425 inclusive, general University, Nos. 153 to 359, Agricultural Experiment Station, Nos. 86 to 157, School of Pharmacy, and Nos. 406 to 920, College of Medicine. We have found that the above vouchers are in due form and properly receipted, except the following vouchers not presented at this time, which are reported missing: General University No. 3181, C. H. Russell $6.75; No. 3216 Central Electric Co. $8.54; 'No. 3235 Champaign County Herald $66.88; No. 3421 Sprague. Electric Co. $7.62. College of Medicine No. 652 H. E. Cavanagh $65.00; No. 838 Medill High School Light $6.00; No. 843 College Iudex $3.00. Agricultural Experiment Station No. 209, S. W. Shattuck, Busines Manager, $34.73. The following vouchers reported missing March 12. 1901, have been received and are now in the files. General University, No. 1289, Wm. Ernst & Sohn, $11.06; No. 1399, Eiler Brothers, $6.83. T h e C o m m i t t e e on B u i l d i n g s a n d G r o u n d s m a d e t h e following r e p o r t w h i c h was accepted for record. URBANA, 1 1 1 . , Sept. 28,1901. lo the Board of Irustees: Your Committee on Building and Grounds, to which was referred sundry matters, reports as follows: 1. In regard to the appointment of a Superintendent of Buildings. After consideration it was decided to appoint F . L, Petersen, as recommended by President Draper, at a salary of $1,200.00 a year, his duties to commence September 1, 1901. 2. The Committee located the new Chemical Laboratory on the ground between the Agricultural Buildings and the present Chemical Laboratory, the building to front west the south line of the south wing being twenty feet north of the north line of California avenue extended. A stake was driven at the northwest corner. 3. The petition of the Urbana and Champaign Railway, Gas and Electric Company to lay a gas pipe across our campus from Wright street to Mathews avenue was granted, on a condition that it be laid in a locality which would not interfere with the use of the grounds by the University; and if it became necessary to remove the pipe at any time, the said company should remove it without expense to the University.
