The following letter from Miss Anna R. Van Meter: MY DEAR PRESIDENT JAMES—I beg leave to present my resignation as assistant professor of Household Science, to take effect Sept. 1, 1911. Very respectfully yours, ANNA R. VAN METER. I t was voted to accept this resignation. ASSOCIATE IN POLITICAL SCIENCE. 3. A recommendation that Dr. J. M. Mathews be appointed associate in Political Science at a salary of sixteen hundred dollars ($1,600/00) a year, work and salary to begin Sept. 1, 1911. I t was voted t h a t the president be authorized to make this appointment. LEAVE OF ABSENCE FOR ASSISTANT PROFESSOR USHER. 4. A request from Miss Susannah Usher for Jeave of absence without pay for the academic year 1911-1912, for the purpose of further study. I t was ordered that the president of the University be given authority to grant such leave of absence without pay, if suitable arrangements can be made for the work in the department of household science. INSTRUCTORSHIPS IN ENGLISH. 5. A recommendation that Dr. Gertrude Schoepperle be appointed instructor in English for the academic year 1911-1912 at a salary of one thousand dollars ($1,000^00) per annum; work and salary to begin Sept. 1, 1911.
