This document is based on a paper I wrote for Prof. Garner in Architecture 319 (Historic Building Preservation), Spring 1990. It was revised and formatted for the Web in November, 1994.The black and white photos were scanned from photocopies I made at the University Archives in 1990. They were scanned at 72dpi in 16 levels of gray, and came out surprisingly well considering they were scans of photocopies of photos that were printed on blueprint paper.
