Biography of Arthur Newell Talbot

Arthur Newell Talbot was born October 21, 1857, at Cortland, Ill. His father, Charles A. Talbot, was born in London, England, and his mother, Harriet Newell Talbot, was born in Brockville, Ontario. (3) Both had been brought as children to the new settlements in northern Illinois in the tide of immigration, principally from New York and New England, which began after the close of the Blackhawk War. Young Talbot's early life was lived under pioneer conditions among the sturdy people who were developing new homes in a prairie land.
