Fire Station

The Fire Station, located beside Engineering Hall was razed in 2001. [1] It was built between 1898 and 1901 [2] and had originally served as a "demonstration center for the Firemen's Short Courses". [3] These short courses, launched in 1925, were the first in the world. [4]

It was later connected to the Old Boiler House, which ran through the eastern part of what is now Bardeen Quad (effectively running along and in front of the west face of the Mechanical Engineering Laboratory). [5]
