Geology Collection

The Geology Collection is spread across a large number of cabinets and display cases in the Natural History Building. [1] The collection, which represents the fields of geology, geography, paleontology, and mineralogy, includes more than 10,000 rocks, 3,000 thin sections, 12,000 minerals, and 75,000 fossils. The paleontology side of the collection was especially rich in Illinoisan samples and Silurian faunas. [2]
