Botany Collection / Herbarium

The Botany Collection is still housed in the Natural History Building and as impressive today as it was in its heyday. Valued at more than $43,000 in 1935, the collection included more than 250,000 labeled specimens and specimen sheets, representing the higher plants and fungi of Illinois and, in some respects, the general flora of the United States.
